SYDNEY, Australia (March 5, 2017) – The Vans Park Series Oceania Continental Men’s Championships finally took flight this morning, challenging 19 incredible park terrain skateboarders from the South Pacific Region for a chance to compete in the 2017 ISF-sanctioned VPS World Championships. After frequent weather delays, the regional qualifier event, which is open to local registered and approved entrants, was postponed until clear skies this morning allowed for an adjusted finals competition. New Zealand native Bowman Hansen, 24, brought on a fiery breakout performance, demonstrating an unfathomable backside boneless revert on the tombstone to secure his title win. His unyielding talent earns him the first regional VPS Oceania Continental Championship title and grants him the invite to join the VPS Select Pros in the series’ world championship event later this year.

Vans Park Series also congratulates teenage rippers Keegan Palmer, 13, and Jedd Mckenzie, 15, who rounded out the podium with a little taste of what the future generation of park terrain skateboarding will look like.
